Question: Will a mealworm climb straight up a tube?

Hypothesis:

Exploration Phase:

Full toilet paper tube: the mealworm sat at the bottom for 5 minutes and started to climb 2 or 3 times and then would back down. Now the worm is 3cm from the top of the tube. It is traveling head first in an upward direction. Nearing the top, we inferred that possibly because of the light, the mealworm retracted and went back down the tube.
Half tube: mealworm went to the top and proceeded to perch on the rim of the tube. Extending and looking around.
Quarter tube: mealworm did not hesitate and went to the top quickly.

Trial 2 - Will other meal worms react the same way as above? What happens if there is more than one meal worm in the tube?
Quarter tube: 2 mealworms were put (Kim’s) in a quarter tube and
Quarter tube: The mealworm (Fitch) climbed diagonally up the tube but stalled about halfway up
Full tube: 2 worms were put into the tube at the same time to see if anything different happened with it. 1 worm made it to the top and traveled the circumferences of the top.
